We have been getting some inquiries as to what our plans are for around the wedding day... here is a our tentative, rough plan for what our Super Fun Kootenay Wedding Week will look like.
Thurs. Aug. 23: Driving Tour of the Kootenays
- set up at the Group Campground after noon
- Driving tour:
- Visit New Denver
- Visit Idaho Peak
- Visit Kaslo
- Visit Ainsworth Hot springs
- Evening hangout at the campground (after supper)
Fri. Aug. 24 : Nelson and Beaches
- Choose your own Kootenay adventure:
- Hiking
- Biking
- Sailing
- Whitewater rafting
- Gold Panning
- Shopping
- Beer Drinking
- Market Fest in Downtown Nelson!
- 6:30 - 9:00ish
- 100+ Vendors
- 10+ Bands
- One of Nelsons biggest summer festivals
- Post Market Fest Party at the Campground
Sat. Aug. 25 : Wedding Day!
- Arrive at Sunshine Bay anytime after 2pm
- Ceremony at 5
- Supper 6 ish
- Party goes until 10pm
- After party at the campground
Sun. Aug.26: The Day After
- After lunch - hangout at beach by the campground
- Play bocce, fly kites, swim etc.
- eat the left overs
- You're all invited to our mini honeymoon! (the real one will be a trip to the Alps the following winter)
- Drive to a BC rec. site (Garland Bay) north of Nelson along Kootenay Lake on Monday morning.
- Hang out until Wednesday afternoon, and have some fun!
- great camping (no power or flush toilets)
- swimming
- easy access to world class hiking at Jumbo Pass, Monica Meadows and Macbeth Icefields.
