Getting here

We are still working out an exact location, but one thing we know for sure is that our wedding will be somewhere in the vicinity of our beloved home, Nelson BC.  We think this makes a lot of since since it is kinda in the middle of Regina, Vancouver and PG.  Even more importantly it is an awesome place to be at the end of August.  How are you going to get here?

Where is it?

Driving Time:
From Vancouver ----> 9.5 Hrs
From Prince George  ---> 14 Hrs
From Edmonton---> 11 Hrs
From Regina ---> 14 Hrs
From Ottawa ---> 44 Hrs
From Hiroshima ---> 840 Hrs (including kayaking time)

Hopefully as we get closer to the date we can use this site to set up some car pools

Just wanna fly?

Air Canada flies into the West Kootenay Regional Airport in Castlegar which is 40km from Nelson. Let us know when you get in and we can pick you up from the airport, or there's a shuttle that will take you to Nelson and drop you off anywhere you need to go.

Air Canada has 3 direct flights daily from Vancouver to Castlegar.  If you book ahead, you can expect to pay approximately $150 each way (including taxes and fees).

Fancy a Paddle?

If you are looking to build your trip to Nelson into a larger adventure, it might be worth considering replicating the journey that David Thomson did in 1811 when he navigated the entire length of the Columbia River.

  1. Fancy a paddle? LOL you guys are nuts ;) I'll fly! And I really hope your Japanese friends do too, they'll be way too tired to take part in festivities after the journey via kayak!
